Welcomes security council resolution as first step in “long journey” toward peace

Washington, DC – The global humanitarian organization Mercy Corps applauds Friday’s passage of United Nations Security Council resolution 2254 that supports international efforts to seek a political solution to end the war in Syria within the next 18 months. We hope this Security Council measure will be a first step toward ending a humanitarian catastrophe affecting more than 12 million innocent men, women and children.
