Universal Children’s Day: Supporting child protection in humanitarian assistance

Every day, thousands of children in situations of emergency are separated from their families and left alone without protection. They are also exposed to attacks, sexual exploitation, forced labour, abuse, forced early marriage and recruitment by armed groups, among other things. Many are deprived from their most basic needs, such as shelter, health care, food or access to education. Today, as we celebrate the Universal Children’s Day, the European Commission reinforces its commitment to the protection of children’s rights worldwide…
