Video: Paul Farmer Speaks in Moscow about Health Equity
For more than 15 years, Partners In Health has been collaborating with Russian health authorities to deliver tuberculosis care for vulnerable and marginalized patients, including prisoners, the homeless, and those with substance abuse disorders. Earlier this week, Dr. Paul Farmer delivered a lecture at the Russian Academy of Sciences in which he discussed PIH-Russia’s work on drug-resistant tuberculosis, the push toward health equity, and advances in diagnosis and treatment regimens. “When there are new drugs discovered, the question is: what is our plan to deliver them equitably?” Dr. Farmer told the crowd.
